The Center of Innovation and Technology - SENAI FIEMG, CIT, is a SENAI unit composed of a set of Innovation Institutes and Technology Institutes focused on industrial competitiveness. In practice, it is a world-class scientific engine. With funding from BNDES, support, and advice from the German Fraunhofer Foundation and also from ITA, the eight institutes that would make up the CIT were defined. The institutes are divided into two categories: Institute SENAI of Innovation - ISI, and Institute SENAI of Technology - IST.
The ISI's are specialized in a transversal knowledge area and serve several industrial sectors throughout the national territory. The institutes are made up of laboratories designed for innovation, high complexity engineering, and R&D.
The IST's are specialized in a relevant regional industrial sector. Its laboratories are focused on meeting the demands of Technical and Technological Services, such as applied research, product and process development, production process consulting and laboratory testing.
One of the key features of CIT is its integrated solutions. Because they share the same campus, over 120,000 square meters, and nearly 30,000 square meters of built-up area, the institutes work together for innovative solutions that are specific to each industry challenge.
